Scammer's Busted: Be Aware of these Online Scammers

More and more scamming incidents have been spreading all over facebook's online community. The idea of shopping with just one click has got everyone hooked. Who wouldn't?!

Now before you go closing a deal with these buyers, make sure to check their credibility... and... their record.

Scammer's Busted

-is an online site which is a mirror of case files filed within a group called "Scammer Busters". (<<---feel free to report scamming experiences if you have one.)

The Scammer's Busted blog contains list of known and reported scammers, including the numbers (GCASH) used to scam their clients. It's only aim is to inform everyone on the web about these names and the incidents. Hoping that the next time you search their name online, you'll instantly find out that their on the scammer's list.

A tip of advise though: Most of these scammers use mobile network money/wallet (ie. GCASH, SMart Padala), or money transfers (LBC, MLhuiller, Cebuana, etc.)... whom doesn't require too many valid id's to withdraw from. That's why they can easily get away with it without a trace.

So, make sure that you transact most preferably via Bank to Bank deposits. It's more secured, and the banks could easily provide you personal details upon legal request.

Let's all aim for a safer online community. Thanks and take care!

Green Minds for a Green Earth

(A Climate Change Adaptation)

by: JHAGZ LANUZA

Global warming is worsening, isn’t it? Lots of people around the world just ignore the fact that our Mother Earth becomes weaker and weaker. Too much pollution in our environment is mainly the real cause why we are suffering from some abnormalities of temperature. This abnormality does not only affect the Philippines but also the entire world. The cold countries become hot and the hot becomes cold. Amazing but it’s quite questionable. Time is precious, we can never bring back the past. One thing we can do is just prepare for the consequences of what we did to this land. Making some actions to preserve our planet can also be a way to diminish the possible results of too much abuse to our beloved Mother Earth. One wise action can change the whole world. As a youth, we are so capable to make these actions real and effective.

Air pollution in urban areas, uncontrollable deforestation and improper waste disposal are some of the factors for the rising of the temperature in the entire world. What can we do to help the world minimize the increasing trend of Global Warming?

We all know that improper waste disposal is not good in our surroundings and for our health as well. Garbage can clog the canals that may result to unusual flooding. The burning of non-biodegradable wastes can affect the ozone layer above us. This ozone layer serves as our protection from the harmful rays of the sun, specifically, the ultraviolet rays. Instead of burning those junks, we can make it as reusable items such as bags, decorations and etc…

Uncontrollable deforestation is a serious thing. Lots of trees in the forest are being cut without any concerns for the possible effects of this to the humankind and to the environment too. Flash floods in low lying areas in the Philippines are very disastrous. Many people lost their daily livings, properties and their lives too. It is so sad to think that those people are just victims of the illegal cutting of trees resulting to numerous incidents of flash floods and land slides. Trees are important since it holds the soil by means of its roots and it prevents erosion. We can cut trees because it’s for free but once you cut one you should replace it. Planting more trees can reduce the risks of having flash floods and landslides in low lying areas.

Carbon dioxide is needed to balance the needs of man and plants but what will happen if too much carbon dioxide exists on Earth? Are you familiar with the so called Greenhouse Effect? This is a phenomenon that our planet suffers now a day. Once the heat coming from the sun enters the Earth it will never bounce back to the outer space because of the factor that traps that heat. Those factories, motor vehicles and energy consuming appliances are responsible for this Greenhouse Effect. The emission of greenhouse gases affects the temperature of the whole world. This is the primary reason why we are suffering from lots of disasters. We can lessen the emission of these gases through eradicating the improper ways of making synthetic products. Avoid burning of non-biodegradable wastes especially plastics. These steps are just simple ways that many people can’t do. If we want to enjoy the beauty of this place, let us make an alliance that will protect our Green Earth.

Life is a matter of choice, one should not choose to become a rival of our nature, and should think deeply. We should act now; it’s not too late for us to save this planet. We can restore the beauty of it, hand in hand, let’s save Mother Earth.

We are truly proud to know that somehow, we have inspired these kids to become aware of what is happening in our world. Hopefully, there will be more activities that would help push each of us to do our part in taking care of our planet Earth.

Kudos Rotaract Club of Legazpi Central!

Legazpi City Focuses on ESWM

by: Patty S. Asagra

A three-day “Trainors Training / Seminar-Workshop on Legazpi City Sustainable Barangay Environment Capability Development Education on Republic Act 9003 (Ecological Solid Waste Management Implementation)” was held last Nov. 11-13, 2009 at Legazpi City Training Center & Dormitory, Airport Road, Legazpi City. It was organized by the City Government of Legazpi thru the OCENR and LEADERS CONSULTANCY. The program was funded by AGENCIA ESPAÑOLA DE COOPERACION INTERNACIONAL PARA EL DESAROLLO (AECID) and was intended for leaders of 49 barangays of the city. The training will run from September to November, 2009. The activity was already the 6th batch conducted and it was participated by 7 Barangays, namely, Brgy. Oro Site, San Roque, Tinago, Cruzada, Bonot, Gogon and Bitano.

The seminar workshop provided the participants information and instructional materials like manuals and CD about the whole ESWM program. Barangay Officials together with School representatives headed by GPTA President were trained to be lecturers in preparation for their particular assignments when they go back to their respective areas.

This is part of the massive campaign launched in order to solve the city’s garbage disposal problem. The training aims to reach 100% awareness and total implementation of RA 9003 throughout the City of Legazpi, and hopefully, to the whole Province of Albay. The seminar ended with a comprehensive action plan for every barangay. We aim towards zero waste! A few years from now, expect to see a clean and green Legazpi City.
